Join us in celebrating local home grown produce at this borough wide summer produce show by entering any of our three competition categories. You are invited to submit up to two entries to each category:

1) Home grown produce
Open to anyone who grows in their own food in Waltham Forest. Whether you grow in your garden, in a windowbox or on an allotment enter your summer crop successes and surprises.
To enter: bring up to five examples of your best fresh home grown fruit and vegetables, and a plate or small tray to display them on. to Artillery Island’s Appetite Marketplace on Saturday 18th July before 3.30pm. We will have Produce Show entry cards for you to complete on your arrival.
Judges guidance for selecting include : Appearance and flavour (where possible for uncooked produce) and texture. Judges may also consider where and how the produce was grown.
Winner to be announced at 5.15pm in Appetite Marketplace

2) Preserved Produce
Whether home grown, foraged or purchased, how do you preserve your produce to enjoy throughout the summer and into the winter? Bring your pestos, jams, jelly, chutneys, pickles and sourdough bread. Do you think we have forgotten something? Let us know and we might expand the list!
To enter: submit your home made preserved produce by 3.30pm on 18th July. Sample produce should be presented in a small tupperware container or equivalent, and if bread, on a plate (to be collected by the owner by 6pm). Please note: NO GLASS JARS will be allowed into the festival by site security. We will have Produce Show entry cards for you to complete on your arrival.
Judges guidance for selection include: Taste, texture, and appearance. Judges may also consider the provenance of the main ingredients, i.e. home grown, foraged or bought.
Winner to be announced by 6pm in the Appetite Marketplace

3) Ingenious planters
Open to all creative and inventive home growers in Waltham Forest. Let’s celebrate the home grown ingenuity for maximising growing space or for irrigating your container garden.
To enter: submit your invention by email to events@artillery.org.uk including up to 3 photographs and a description of where it is, what you grow in it and how you made it.
Submit your entry by 10pm on 17th July or bring up to three photos to the Summer Produce Show.
Judges guidance for selection include: Design and success at growing plants.
Winner to be announced at 5.15pm in Appetite Marketplace
